Typical Wave and Surf Patterns:
Look for information about the usual pattern of wave activity in Assateague Island. Focus your discussion on where the waves originate from and that the typical size (amplitude) is, as well as whether it varies throughout the year. Discuss the type of breakers present in the region (if this is available). Discuss the role of wave and surf in determining the local activities that are possible in the area. Also, discuss the tsunami hazard and history for your area.
Try to limit this section to no more than 4 paragraphs of college level writing and include at least one helpful graphic (image). Discuss this in your narrative.
Tidal Patterns
Search the web for a current tide chart for Assateague Island and include a graphic of this in this section. Identify the type of tide (diurnal, semi-diurnal, mixed) and discuss whether it’s a neap or spring tide on the date you observe the pattern. Your narrative on this section should be no more than 2 paragraphs of college level writing and should include a description of the tide as described above.
