Artifact: Teacher observation and evaluation

Select a willing teacher to participate in this teacher observation and evaluation project. Conduct a pre-observation conference, observation, and post-observation conference. Write up the results in the form of a memo to the teacher.
For this assignment, you must conduct a full three-part observation cycle with a teacher. You will work with a willing teacher to observe and analyze their instruction, and complete this process ethically and in a professional manner, with integrity and fairness. Your role, as an intern, is not to truly evaluate a teacher but to apply the process in a learning capacity, as clinical experience.
The project begins with a pre-observation conference. This is not a meeting where you tell the teacher about the observation; instead, its a conversation with the teacher in which you learn what the lesson will be about, what the learning objectives are, what challenges the teacher anticipates, which students may have difficulties, and what learning question the teacher would like you to focus on during the observation. You must hear the teachers voice in this conference and reflect the teachers voice in your memo.
The observation section should be a script of the lesson or a narrative from start to finish. This is the place for low inference data (for example, 14 of 18 students were engaged in the activity) not the section for judgments (for example, too many students off-task or the teacher did a good job). Like Sgt Friday would say on the old Dragnet TV show, just the facts. Report the observation in your memo.
The post-observation conference is, again, a conversation. Here, we should hear the teachers self-evaluation of their performance as well as your evaluation. This is the section for evaluative statements.
A critical requirement of this assignment is a Professional Development Plan (PDP) for the teacher. You must create a fully articulated PDP, including directives for performance, action steps, measurable results, timeline & plan for monitoring results.
Write a memo to the teacher capturing the pre-observation conference, the lesson observation, the post-observation conference, the teachers strengths and opportunities for growth, and the growth plan. The required artifact is a memo. Use memo format. This is a memo to the teacher. Do not talk about the teacher in 3rd person; instead, talk to the teacher in 2nd person.
This is a key assessment: A score of 80 or higher is required on this assignment.
