Please short citation and structure footnote my literature review. If possible when editing cut down words to help make any word countless

These are instructions:

Word count: 2000-2500 words for proposal and 2000 – 3350 for literature review

Elements of your proposal

1.Title Propose a title for your thesis project.
2.Intro A brief background on the relevant international relations issue and an introduction of paper topic and subject area.
3. Research Question and Significance A clearly stated research question. The research question should be narrowly focused, allowing you to answer it thoroughly and effectively during the span of one semester (or less). It needs to be backward looking; you may include forward looking policy recommendations at the end of your paper/ thesis based on the preceding analysis (but you dont have to). In addition, address the relevance and significance. How does your project make an original contribution to and build on existing literature? What are the advantages of your analysis in comparison to alternative interpretations that have been offered?

4. Current Literature and Theoretical Framework This section should include: 1) a critical discussion of the relevant literature that addresses your research question and 2) the theoretical framework that guides the analysis. What closely related scholarly works, concepts, or ideas will you build on and use in your research? What are the gaps in the current literature that your project might seek to fill?

5. Methodology This section should discuss the research design for your project (what evidence you will seek and from what types of sources). Describe how you plan to answer the question you have identified. What data do you need to answer your thesis question? What are the sources of that data and how will you obtain it? Will you be using a quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods approach? Consider whether there is sufficient data to answer this question, if this data be reasonably accessed, and if it is feasible to do so over the course of one semester (or less).

6. Preliminary Bibliography (sources used in preparing the proposal

Reminders:

1) Double-spaced with one inch margins. Times New Roman 11 or 12 point font.

2) Do not include the full title of scholarly works in the text, unless they are a classic or warrant it somehow; include proper citation information in the footnotes

3) Style Guide: Chicago Manual of Style Notes and Bibliography format (see the quick citation guide online)

4) Always include a page number; use proper format for repeated cites

5) Clearly identify your research areas in the lit. review portion (or the petals of the daisy as Luker calls them)
