Research Aims
The aim of this exploratory socio-legal study is to examine the impact of COVID-19 and socio-cultural practices that impede girls’ right to access formal education in Nigeria. By using legal pluralism, African feminism, and a human rights-based approach, the study questions the efficacy of the existing legal and policy framework to protect girls right to education in Nigeria.
Research Objectives
a. To critically examine Nigeria’s legal and policy framework governing a girl child’s right to an education.
b. To assess the impact of COVID-19 and other socio-economic and cultural factors affecting Nigerian girl childrens right to education.
