In this assignment, you must write a paper about the great powers and their relationship with Afghanistan. Discuss the past interactions of Britain, Russia/Soviet Union, the US, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, and China (you do NOT have to discuss Brazil or South Africa). This will require that you do a bit of research on Afghan history, focusing on foreign interventions there, but you can also mention the significance of when Afghanistan invaded Persia and the Indian subcontinent.
Your paper should examine four elements, though they do not necessarily need to be in four sections:
A. Analyze the main factors behind the rise of new world powers in regards to Afghanistan.
B. State the causes of the crisis within the NATO countries in the OECD and the rise of the Russia, India, and China in relationship to Afghanistan in general, and the fall of Kabul in particular.
C. Develop an understanding about the rise and fall of world powers in relationship to Afghanistan.
D. Appraise the central policies of the above selected countries concerning the rise in light of the current situation in Afghanistan.
Format:
12 point-pitch. Times New Roman font. One inch margins on all sides (left, right, top, bottom). 1.5 spacing between the lines. You should use only left justification.
You must have a table of contents.
