Expectations of an academic research paper
The research paper must be a minimum of 20 pages, double spaced, preferably with Times New Roman 12 point font. The page requirement does not include the title page, table of contents or references.
APA style format can be followed for your research paper.
You must cite all the references that you used in the paper. Failure to do so will be marked as plagiarism. For internet and other non-books sources including periodicals, you must provide a link under each of the reference.
I will look for your grammar, spelling, and citations as these are critical elements for a top quality research paper. Mechanics – No errors in punctuation, capitalization and spelling. Usage – No errors sentence structure and word usage.
Your evaluation or recommendation or opinion of the topic is to be included in the Conclusion.

A top-quality research paper should exhibit the following characteristics:
Title Page Correct format, no errors
Thesis Statement – Clearly and concisely states the papers purpose in a single sentence, which is engaging, and thought provoking.
Introduction – The introduction is engaging, states the main topic and previews the structure of the paper.
Methodology A discussion of how articles were found. What were the search terms. What key databases or agencies were used? Why those? What were the limitations in your research?
Body
o Each paragraph has sufficient, thoughtful supporting detail sentences that develop the main idea.
o Organization Writer demonstrates logical and subtle sequencing of ideas through well-developed paragraphs; transitions are used to enhance organization.
Conclusion – The conclusion is engaging and restates the thesis.
Bibliography a comprehensive listing of all references books, websites, journals. Includes more than 35 major references in addition to the textbook and assigned class readings: journal articles, books, internet sites of academic or business quality. For example, Infoway is an excellent resource. An article by a local newspaper would have less weight, and should be checked for bias before including content.
