Fully developed and effective paragraphs in the following styles:
o An introduction containing an effective hook, background information or context connecting your reader to the topic, and an explicit thesis statement clearly expressing your claim and forecasting your claims support.
o Body paragraphs containing topic sentences, varying details supporting those topic sentences, clear explanation of the links between your details and claims, and contextual transitions between paragraphs expressing the relationships between the ideas in the body paragraphs.
o A conclusion restating the main points of the essay, a closing strategy referring to the context or background information in the introduction, and a final thought offering insight or wider impact of the topic as a closing statement. NOTE: The phrase in conclusion or any of its synonyms are not permitted.
