Teaching Elementary Reading/Comprehension Lesson Plan for 6th grade

Develop a lesson plan that increases reading comprehension skills for learners in the 6th grade in the State of Illinois, United States. Use the poem titled I ate a Spicy Pepper. You will complete and use the Lesson Plan Template with Hints to think through the planning of the lesson. With the template a list of handouts, notes, books, and other materials you will need for the lesson must be included. Include a copy of all handouts. Select a comprehension skill such as predicting, retell/summarizing, inferring, questioning, visualizing, determine main idea, connecting within or among texts, synthesizing. You will need to consider a whole group read aloud and plan small group/partner/independent work.
