MGT 101 SWOT Analysis Requirements
The SWOT Analysis will be completed for a 2019 Fortune 500 Company. You will research and provide the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, for your chosen company. This information will be paraphrased and placed in your own words. No quotations. One company per person. This must be YOUR original work. You cannot use previously submitted assignments by you or anyone. Do not recycle previously submitted documents completed in other courses, other semesters, or from other schools.
To get started, follow the instructions below in the order given:
1. View the 2019 Fortune 500 List, URL is https://fortune.com/fortune500/
2. Choose two companies for which to complete your SWOT analysis
3. Go to the BrightSpace/D2L Discussions forum and read through the companies previous
submitted/posted to avoid duplication.
4. Create your own message and place the company name in the SUBJECT field of your
post/thread by the deadline date in the Fortune 500 Company Choice Discussion Folder. Remember, the person that post the company first gets preference. You chose two companies so if the first company you chose was already selected use the other. If the 2nd choice is there, go back to the drawing board.
5. You may change companies as long as no one else has selected it. You must post your change BEFORE the deadline. Open and edit your original message if you decide to choose another company.
Now that you have selected the company of your choice, get started conducting the research.
References
Must have three (3) to five (5) unique reference articles/sources are required. References should be current; from 2018 to 2020. Use the TTC Management Library Guide for acceptable article databases. As a reminder blogs and Wikipedia are not acceptable references.
Analysis Format
Total of five (5) pages: Title Page (1st page), the Main Body (introduction and SWOT) and conclusion of the analysis (2nd, 3rd and 4th pages double-spaced pages), and the Works Cited/Reference (5th page). Please see template for the analysis requested format. No direct quotes. All content will be paraphrased and placed in your own words.
The Main Body which includes the introduction, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, and the conclusion can flow across pages. It is required to include at least three items under each. These should be given in complete sentences. Rubrics are provided to use to obtain the information to include for the SWOT. The last portion is the Conclusion. It is the outlook of the company based on the SWOT analysis.
You can use either MLA or APA documentation style for your Works Cited pageit is your choice.
The analysis must be typed using MS Word or compatible, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, using 12 pt font (Arial, Tahoma or Times New Roman). Check spelling, grammar, word flow, punctuation, etc. Cite all reference materials/URLs used.

SUBMISSION
Submit the assignment to the BrightSpace/D2L Assignments folder before the deadline. However, the integrated Turnitin application is automatic and submitting your first draft as soon as possible will give you the opportunity to review the originality report provided by the Turnitin application. Turnitin provides an originality report after you submit your document. It compares your submission with a database of previous submitted documents. This helps prevent you from innocently plagiarizing. If your originality percentage is more than 20%. Correct these areas of your paper by paraphrasing the matched text. Make sure you cite all references. You want to achieve a low percentage number, and preferably a blue color block. Any color or percentage higher than 20 will score a yellow or orange color block.
Once you have revised your paper, resubmit. A second originality report will be generated, which hopefully shows a lower percentage than the first submission. Continue to refine and resubmit your paper as many times as needed before the due date.
