WATCH THE MOVIE WITH THE OPENNESS TO LEARN, TO FEEL, TO UNDERSTAND YOURSELF AND OTHERS.
You should write the paper based on the following format:
Using your Positive Psychology at the Movies 2
text, please address the following positive psychology issues in the movie.
1. As the movie ends, be present to what is stirring inside you. What do you feel? Note how you are motivated to think and/or act in a way that benefits yourself or others.
2. Describe what you are most inspired by from the movie, whether that is a particular character, dialogue, or quote, a plot development, an interaction or scene, or a cinematic element (lighting, scenery, music).
3. Define and describe, in detail, the main character’s signature strengths, virtues, and strong dynamics. Cite specific scenes to illustrate your points. Please relate this to how you were inspired in #2.
4. Define and describe, in detail the benefits and coping for the main characters. Cite specific scenes to back up your arguments. Consider ways that you might translate benefits and cope to your own life.
Grades will be based on clarity and comprehensiveness. In other words, did you go into enough detail on all 3 questions, citing specific examples and scenes from the film to back up your arguments? Were you clear and correct in your analysis of positive psychology and its application in the movie?
I will grade your Movie Analysis based on the following rubric: a) is the paper free of grammar/spelling errors? is the paper organized well, with clear arguments and transitions? b) did the student clearly and completely address all of the questions above? c) did the student go into enough detail, citing specific scenes from the film to illustrate the positive psychology concepts comprehensively in at least 6 pages (no maximum)?
