Goals of this assignment are:
Understand key concepts, theories, methodological approaches, and research findings in the social scientific study of religion across different historical contexts, social groups, and societies
Describe and apply various sociological theories used in the social scientific study of religion
Examine and analyze issues related to religion informed by sociological concepts, methods, theories and perspectives.
Evaluate political, socioeconomic, cultural, and institutional factors that impact social inequality on the basis of religious beliefs and practices.
Discuss and assess sociological studies related to religion; critically evaluate theories, research methods and data in sociological investigations of religion.
