My topic for the final paper will focus on Social Control Theory in relation to criminal deviance. The concept that self control is a learned behavior rather than a natural behavior proves that a person’s environment and relationships help us understand and practice good morals. It allows a person to learn to avoid or participate in criminal deviant behavior depending on internal and external control, or both. For example, family ties are connected to the path a person chooses.
