1. Select any theory or concept in the required textbook for this course that you would like to
explore more in depth (look through the required textbooks content to identify a theory or a
concept of your interest). Write an introduction explaining your choice of the theory or concept
(e.g., why did you choose this particular theory, as opposed to other theories).
2. Explain the theory or concept as you understand it (describe its key points in your own words).
Theory is a well-established consensus explanation for a problem or a fact that has been
repeatedly confirmed by previous research (see Chapter 1 for a more detailed definition of
scientific theories).
3. Go to the MC Library website search for a peer-reviewed article on the theory or concept that
you selected. Read the article to learn more about the theory or concept you selected (if you want
to use more than one peer-reviewed article, feel free to do so, however, you will not get an extra
credit for it).
