When we go into the helping field, aka human services, we are often presented with many situations that are similar to our own or even bring out our own biases from life experience. We often go into the field due to experience and out own life challenges. It is frequently recommended that students receive counseling as they traverse their human services education and into their own careers whether it be social work, counseling, case management and more.
