Summary:
Pick any topic from the course that youd like to conduct more research about. Find at least 4 journal articles or book chapters related to the topic and create an empirical research paper; basically a report on what youve learned.
The paper for PSY 307 must include the following components.
A total of 100 marks will be awarded based on the following categories:
Introduction (10 marks)
o This outlines the research proposal and argues why the line of research is important and how it is relevant to current social issues.
Review and Integration of Literature (50 marks)
o Give an in-depth description of past research that is relevant to the topic. Include a minimum of FOUR primary references.
o The research question must be addressed in a balanced perspective and well discussed in some depth in an integrated presentation.
Critical Analysis/Discussion & Conclusions (20 marks)
o Give an integrated discussion of the topic, based on the sources you have reviewed and on your own analysis.
o Comment on anticipated problems, ethical issues, and outcomes.
Use of APA Style (10 marks)
Demonstrate consistent use of APA (7th edition) style in the title page, references, and citations (primary and interpreted, and secondary where applicable).
Writing Skills (10 marks)
Demonstrate excellent organization, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Transitions from one section to the next should be clear and logical. A well-organized report may use headings. Paraphrasing is complete and accurate. The paper is free of plagiarism and interpretation errors.
