1. Paragraph 1 is a summary of main events in story followed by central idea.

2.Paragraph 2 is an Analysis of main character, what he/she says,does, thinks,.values, each example w/ a quote and citation, supporting central idea.

3. Paragraph 3 identifies main character’s conflict and states conflict as 2 specfic opposing forces: ………vs…………………………….

4. Paragraph 4 identifies the point if view ( who tells the story) as omniscient ( unnamed narrator who gives characters’ thoughts;Ex. “The Necklace”), first person( character in story who tells story from I, we perspective; Ex. “Araby”) or dramatic/objective ( only dialogue and actions given;Ex. “The Lottery” ). After identifying point of view, give a quoted example of point of view w/citation. Discuss how p. of v. affects story..Review more information about point of view in syllabus and Bb module.

5.Paragraph 5 is on setting, the time and place of story. Identify time and place and discuss effect of setting on story. See attachment on assignment 5 on Bb for effects of setting.Examples of Effects of setting can be the historical time period of story, sets mood or tone of story,symbolizes aspect of conflict or character.
