Remember that you are critically analysing and evaluating one area of your clinical competency and professional development and you are required to illustrate the significance and importance of this as well as how it has been promoted enabled.
You are required to map out your future consolidation of this aspect and further development as a registered nurse. You need to consider how you will further develop this competency once you have qualified.
Draw upon relevant theory and research as it applies to the chosen theme.
Offer critical analysis of the evidence available. Question and examine your findings. How reliable/valid is the evidence etc?
You could make links to the six dimensions of the NHs Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) where appropriate, explore protocols, guidelines and policies underpinning your selected strategy. These could include Trust or national policies.
Relate each part of the theory to your focus and to your observations and reflections of clinical practice. What does the literature say about your experience from practice etc?
You need to be focused on your topic area. Avoid a broad, descriptive essays which will not meet the level 3 assessment criteria.
Use your experiences from the whole of your nurse education i.e. supervision has this helped your development.
If relevant to your focus, how have lectures, skills sessions, assignments, OSCE etc helped in your development journey. Link these to theory what does the literature say?
Your discussion should include some reflection and examples from clinical experience remember to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure any examples used reflect safe practice.
