My CHOSEN 4 concepts or theories are Globalization, Import substituting industrialization, neoliberalism, and modernization theory. Below are the instructions.

For each term, provide
1. a definition/description
2. its significance in development studies, and
3. an example or application of the concept/theory.
Acceptable sources for each of your terms may be:
class notes,
class readings,
peer-reviewed articles or books, or
Instead of searching for a topic from the normal google search bar, go to google
scholar and then search.

Obviously, you need to carefully vet all internet sources. Online sites for
newspapers and magazines that appear in print are fine (Wall Street Journal,
New York Times, Guardian, Economist, Foreign Policy, etc.). Be careful of cable
news sites and other more obscure sites that may have specific agendas.
You must properly cite all sources whether class notes, class readings or an outside source.
Your journal entries must be well written and in complete sentences. Poorly written journals
with improper grammar and punctuation will result in a lower grade.
Each of your four terms should be about 300 words.
Format of the paper should be double-spaced, with one-inch margins and a 12-point font
