Mobile Translation Application in Healthcare

Propose developing an application used to help the language barrier between patients and their healthcare provider.

Content:

Introduction: Briefly introduce purpose of proposal, the problem, and the proposed solutions(s). This section should only be one paragraph (approx.150-200 words)

Problem Statement: Briefly describe the problem (or current situation) and the background that led to it. This section should have at least one reference. *Problem statement assignment (with edits) applied here

Solution: Should be technical such as a device, tool, piece of equipment, software or an app (not social, such as education or creating awareness) . Describe your proposed solution and how it will meet the needs of the current situation or correct the problem. Use technical descriptions to describe the device’s properties, materials, dimensions, etc. and a process description to describe how it works.

Features and Benefits: Describe three specific features and benefits of the solution and how they improve the problem (i.e. cost effective, easy to transport, easy to produce, etc). These features should directly address the problem(s) and consequences presented in the problem statement. Figures and tables can be used here.

Conclusion: Restate your purpose and the results. Recommend next actions or further research based on your opinion.

Formatting:

Using the report shell discussed in class (Jul 15), organize the content using the following technical writing conventions, front and back matter.

Title page – title, student name, date of submission, receiver’s name
Table of contents in numeric format (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.)
List of illustrations
Descriptive (not functional) headings with numeric organization – must show subordinate headings (1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.)
A minimum of 1 list – correctly applied
A minimum of 1 appropriate figure or table with descriptive caption (supports content – no logos or vaguely related images)
Page numbers
In-text research citations [1]
A minimum of 2 credible research sources – must be retrievable/accessible at the time of grading
Word count between 1500-2000 (approx. 3-4 pages of text) Refer to rubric for grade specifics around word-count.
