Please read the Melville’s “Bartleby, the Scrivener” and the three speeches by Abraham Lincoln in your textbook.
Once you have read the poems from each writer (and asked me any questions you may have about it), your next step is to do the board.
Please answer the following questions. Be sure to quote and analyze at least three times in each question. Your answers should each be 300 words.
1) What is the point of the Melville story in terms of the world. Prove it by quoting and analyzing the words in the story.
2) What is the relationship between “Bartleby” and one other work we have read this semester. Prove it by quoting and analyzing the words in both texts.
Reflection
Add your two paragraph reflection in which you say what you learned about the ideas and what you learned about your own writing. Be sure to quote your own writing in the paragraph on your own writing.
