OBJECTIVE
Students will recognize particular legal issues inhering to a given case scenario and determine which laws come to bear on the issues towards arriving at a resolution of those issues.

ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This week we went over a lot of the basics of government. One concept we spent a lot of time
on, is the separation of powers and the roles and responsibilities of each branch of government. It
seems that most of the senators and congressional representatives are well in their 70’s. A lot has changed in our country and these representatives don’t seem to effectively represent the interests of the majority of the American people. In this assignment, you will be answering the following questions:
Do you think that congress representatives should have time limits, so that younger representatives can have an opportunity to help shape the future of America? What are the pros and cons of having limits of service?
Do you think that there should be a requirement that members of congress be more diverse reflecting diversity in races, cultures, religion, sexual orientation and gender, so that there is a good cross-section of our society representing the American people? What are the pros and cons.

Please write directly in the text box. Please make sure that you answer each question separately. Do not combine the answers. Label your answers as question 1 and question 2 etc., so that I can evaluate how you answered each question separately. One page is required for this assignment. This assignment is worth 15 points.
