Topic Sentence: By all means, the legality of marijuana has been a sensitive and controversial topic.
Thesis: The current legality status of marijuana impacts people in different ways every day. 1st Body:
Topic: The current legality in my state, Georgia
Information: Currently in Georgia, marijuana is fully illegal, meaning it is not decriminalized at all, it is not legal medically, and it is certainly not legal recreationally.
2nd Body:
Topic: Current issues with marijuana being legal/illegal
Information: Currently, people charged with possession of marijuana have gone to jail for longer than some assault cases and rape. Marijuana being legal leads to people who have been arrested for possession being able to find jobs! Legal states hire people who have been arrested for possession to work in dispensaries. Perhaps legality would take marijuana off the street, making purchasing it safer. Marijuana may be the only pain relief that truly works for cancer patients and people with Parkinsons.
3rd Body:
Topic: Why it should be legal
Information: Unlike some people, truly need marijuana medically to be able to go about their day not in pain, not just to get high. It is completely absurd that rapists see shorter sentences than people who possess a small quantity of marijuana.
