It is almost too obvious to point this out, but very few if any of the prophets of the three great Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) have ever preached on the value of pleasure itself, for itself. Even more obviously, none of them seem to celebrate the pleasure of sex as sex (not as something “for the glory of God, etc.), for example. If the topic comes up, it’s only to condemn it, or to offer a series of harsh restrictions (only in marriage; only to produce children, etc. etc.). Imagine a prophet that would teach not just about sex itself, but how to ennoble it, how to elevate it, how to beautify it. Can we even imagine such a thing? What kind of morality do you think Nietzsche is suggesting here? Is it the opposite of “morality as anti-nature”?
