Interview a non-American who is not from the country where you or your immediate family members were born.

Interview and Reflection
1. Interview a non-American who is not from the country where you or your immediate family members were born. Choose someone you do not already know well. The interview should focus on mindset (how they see the world from their cultural lens), not biography. If you choose, you can pick a specific topic of interest to you, such as marriage, social status, social dos and donts, significant events in their culture, their views of the U.S., etc. The write up should include your learning, surprises, challenges, and long-term takeaways. DO NOT simply summarize the questions and given answers. This is not about what they said, but about what you got out of it.
2. Add a reflection that addresses the following:
a. How has your knowledge and understanding expanded as a result of this class? Do you have any new global skills or realizations?
b. How do you plan to stay up-to-date and engaged with the world after SAU?
c. Describe how you are influenced by your own culture. Be specific in describing the predominant culture where you were raised and how it influenced your views of this world.
d. Lastly, describe how your values reflect (or not) SAUs diversity value and the COBs mission (page 1 of syllabus).
Total length for the interview analysis and reflection: roughly 1,000 words. Please use headers in the paper of Interview Analysis and Reflection. Value: 100 points
Grading criteria: Analysis will be graded on the extent that the write-up is well-written and succinct. Paper addresses all of the points above (1-2a-d). There should be depth of analysis to your summary of your learnings from the interview. Paper is copied and pasted into the relevant discussion forum. Two peer posts commenting on other students submissions of at least five lines each are completed.
