Aliens have come from Mars and you have to explain indigenous (African or Native American) religions and Judaism or Christianity to them! You can format this as a letter/explanation/regular analytical paper, etc. Please compare/contrast Indigenous African religions with Judaism or Christianity.
What do these religions have in common/how do they differ from one another? Think about how you would explain a myth vs a religion, the idea of combining different religions because of sociopolitical realities of colonization, slavery and trade, the God question, the afterlife, etc.
You don’t have to compare/contrast them on all of these issues but compare/contrast on at least 2 of these issues. Think about what would be the most interesting for your alien friends who know nothing about religions to begin with.
Requirements:
– 12 point font, times new roman, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, 2 full pages long
– You can use 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person narration
– Respond to the above prompt in the form of a thesis statement (a main idea that your paper builds off of that you explain throughout the paper)
– Integrate at least 3 quotes total from Invitation to World Religions (at least 1-2 from indigenous African religions or Native American religions and 1-2 from Judaism or Christianity) into your analysis/explanation, then explain the quote in your own words (situate quote in paper, rather than merely place it in there).
– Correctly cite the page or verse number of the quote “……………………”(32).
– Explain relevant philosophical concepts that pertain to the reading (for example: if you’re discussing God, myth, religion, human condition, etc., explain what these mean within their respective religions/philosophies)
