You must defend your position on this debatable topic by supporting it with research.

There are many steps to the process, and writing the essay is the last step. No informational essays (reports) are acceptable. Strong research essays have clarity, focus, depth, and originality.

Format and length:

Your essay must be MLA formatted. This includes parenthetically citing all sources in your essay and including a Works Cited list.
(Failure to cite sources and/or provide a Works Cited page will result in a grade of D or lower.)

7-9 pages; typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font. Only the body is counted in the page requirements (not the Works Cited page).
(Failure to meet the page minimum will lower your final grade one full letter for each missing page.)

A minimum of five sources total (all must come from the library databases):
2 articles from newspapers and/or magazines (periodicals)
1 article from a scholarly/academic journal (periodical)
1 reputable source of your choosing.
