I need to write a 1200 max. word essay (not including footnotes and Bibliography) for my Classical Literature class.

I need to do one of these questions, you can pick whichever one is easier for you/whichever one you prefer.

1. In what way does Roman epic get us to think about power and politics through vision and visuality? Discuss in relation to at least two epic poems:

2. How does Roman historiography convey its moral message? Discuss in relation to two historians:
Sallust, Bellum Catilinum – The Conspiracy of Catiline, 1-25;
Livy, Ab urbe condita, Preface and Book 1.1-21;
Tacitus Annales, I.1-51

Could you please use about 15 sources (I trust your judgement on the exact amount).
I have a list of sources that might be useful to you, just let me know which question you chose and I will send the list.

Could you also please use the Harvard citation format (with the main bibliography organised in alphabetical order). If you use/quote a particular translation of a classical author, could you please include a reference to that translation in the final bibliography (using the translators name as a lemma).
