Since the murder of George Floyd, many Americans have been willing to admit that racism is prevalent in America and that systemic racism is deadly for communities of color. This project is designed to help you think about the impact of racism in its totality.

This essay assignment requires that you think historically and broadly, meaning that you must show how racism plays out in various areas such as in housing, education, politics, military, entertainment, religion, etc. Keep in mind that culture is not race and race is not culture, so do not conflate the two. Race is also not ethnicity and ethnicity is not race, so again, do not conflate the two. You will lose points if you make these mistakes.
