Pick any short story (or two or three) weve read this semester and, employing the shared tenets of Ideological CriticismMarxism, Feminism, Queer Theory, Ethnic Studies, Postcolonialism, etc.compose an essay in which you develop and defend an original thesis. Pay careful attention to the elements of fictionplot, point of view, character, setting, figurative language, and themein organizing your ideas and support; you need not, however, mention all of these elements in your essay, and perhaps only one or two. You should also make some effort to place your position in critical context, quoting from at least three other scholarly texts.
