Discussion 3 | Exploring a Biblical Ethical Dilemma
RESPOND
The bible contains many rich examples of ethical dilemmas. Locate what you perceive as an ethical dilemma that can be found in the bible. Some options include (but are not limited to):
Cain & Abel (Genesis 4)
Abram, Sarah, & Hagar (Genesis 16)
Abraham & Issac (Genesis 22)
Saul & David (1 Samuel 24)
Rahab & the spies (Joshua 2)
Jesus & the Sabbath (Mark 3)
or Jesus, the woman, and the Pharisees (John 8).
Review the discussion requirements. Post your video recording and word document and address the following:
Present the scriptural dilemma you chose and the scripture location. Summarize the situation and read the most pertinent verses from scripture.
Identify all parties involved and their role in the dilemma.
Identify what sources if any the primary party consulted in making his/her decision.
Identify the outcome of the dilemma and the effects of the primary partys decision.
Present the wisdom that can be drawn for present-day psychology professionals from this scriptural example.
Create an outline of your dilemma and submit it with your presentation.
Use bullet points, but write it in a way that someone could read the outline and follow the information without hearing your presentation.
Number your outline so the 5 points in the discussion question are clearly addressed.
