Annotated Outline For Final Paper
Refer to the materials that you compiled for Weeks 1 and 2 intended for completion of the final paper.
Make any corrections to your cover page and/or annotated bibliography based on instructor feedback.
Determine which resources you will use for your final paper (i.e., remove or add sources to your references list, as needed).
Remove summary annotations from your Annotated Bibliography once it is completed, and create an APA-formatted references page as demonstrated in your APA Manual (6th ed.).
Create an outline of your paper. You may choose to include annotations (adding information, explanations, and sentences that you have composed to start each section).
Submit a revised cover page, an outline of your paper, and a references list with annotations removed by Day 7 of Week 3.
Read Section 3.4: Understanding the Importance of Precision and Specificity, Section 5.3: Ensuring the Conclusions Match the Type of Data Collected, and Section 5.4: Becoming a Savvy Consumer of Research, and review Section 5.1: Evaluating Journal Articles: The Big Picture, from Sole’s and Landrum’s (2015) Academic Research and Writing: A Guide for the Social Sciences.

Final Paper
For the Final Paper due at the end of Week 6, select an institution or practice from the human services field to serve as the main topic of your writing. The Week 1 Written Assignment requires that you specify and discuss this topic so you will have adequate time to plan this final assignment. Examples of human services institutions and practices include the TANF Program, Medicaid, the Food Stamp Program, the Foster Care System, the use of medications to treat behavioral symptoms, the privatization of child welfare (or other public services), and health coaching.

Discuss and focus on your topic within the context of the history of human services, as you address the following required elements:

Explain the historical evolution of your human services topic. Identify at least two major historical developments that provide a context and background for your selected topic, and analyze your topic within the context of the history of the human services field (1 – 2 pages).
Evaluate at least two major contributing and evolving societal and socio-cultural issues and factors that have been historically associated with your human services topic, and explain how these factors have impacted the development of the field relative to your topic (2 – 3 pages).
Summarize at least one major philosophical and ideological perspective that has influenced your topic. Provide your perspective on the contributing theory or philosophy that you discuss (1 – 2 pages).
Compare and contrast two differing political, social, and economic perspectives that have influenced your human services topic. These should be alternative or opposing ideological perspectives or theoricixes (2 – 3 pages).
