Instructions: For the remaining Field Experience Hours you will select any ECE classroom setting.
Observations: Collect the following data throughout your observations. In addition, you will need to refer to
and use the text and course concepts within the OBJECTIVE descriptions of your findings. It is expected that for
each of the nine items you have about 1 page of objective observation related to the topic/chapter.
1. Chapters 1, 3 & 4: What theories and/or philosophies do you see occurring or being implemented in this
classroom?
2. Chapter 6: How is assessment included (formal and informal)?
3. Chapter 9: Describe the physical environment and facilities (indoor/outdoor)
4. Chapters 9 & 10: Describe the daily schedule, lesson plan and curricula, specimen or samples can be
included and/or referred to in this section.
5. Chapter 10: How is physical development included in the curricula?
6. Chapter 12: How is math & science included in the curricula?
7. Chapter 13: How is language & literacy included in the curricula?
8. Chapter 14: How is social development included in the curricula?
9. Chapters 7 & 14: How is the classroom managed and social development encouraged?
