1- How does nonverbal communication influence our perception of others? What are some changes that have occurred in our nonverbal behavior due to the COVID 19 crisis?
2- Discuss a time that you attended a cultural event that is unfamiliar to you (i.e. a religious service outside your religion). Tell me about your experience. What surprised you? How did the event compare to a similar event within your own culture? How did you feel being a minority at the event? Did this experience change or influence your perception of this culture?
3- Watch two consecutive hours of prime time television on a major network (Monday-Friday, between 7-10 pm, on NBC, ABC, or CBS). Note the use of stereotypes by determining minority representation and the characters portrayed by minorities. Does this influence stereotypes? State your evidence and make a strong claim to support your opinion. What effect does media have on society?
