How did they define and measure their outcomes?

This assignment will continue to build on your understanding of the articles that you read for the final paper. A literature review assesses the academic literature to find themes and patterns in previous research. This previous research helps you to justify your reasoning for extending the knowledge in a particular area, by showing what has already been done and where there are gaps to be addressed.

For this assignment, you will write a 3-5 page literature review of the articles your have read for your proposal. You should try to synthesize the articles that you have read and make connections between them. You can use the articles that you have already read for the research problem statement and the annotated bibliography.

The literature review is not a book report style summary of the articles that you have read. That is what the annotated bibliography does. Instead, the literature review takes the articles that you have read and synthesizes them into themes. So be looking for similarities and differences between your articles and how you can weave them together into a coherent narrative about what’s happening in your field. Imagine that someone asked you to explain your topic to them in 3-5 pages and you were telling them a story. Things you can look at include:
Who is in their sample?
How did they define and measure their outcomes?
What types of analysis did they do?
Did they look cross-sectionally or longitudinally?
