Task 2: Chose one picture and then imagine that you witness the whole event and then write an eyewitness report about it (informal English 100-200 words).

Then imagine that you are a police officer who has been interviewing several witnesses. Write a police report about the same event (formal English, 100-200 words). Use many different witnesses in this report. Write a title of the topic that you have chosen, e.g. Kidnapping. Include the picture that you have used.

3. Read the student examples below before you start writing.

4. Write an eyewitness report with informal English 150-300 words. To make it authentic you should imagine that the person has witnessed something unsettling and is a bit shaky. Remember to use slang and you can even use swear words.

5. Then imagine that you are a police officer who has been interviewing several witnesses. Write a police report about the same event with formal English, 150-300 words. You can use many different witnesses in this report. Write a title of the topic that you have chosen, e.g. Kidnapping. Include the picture that you have used.

A police report should consist of:

a date and specific time when the police arrived to the crime scene
an account of what happened
a descriptions of perpetrators and victims
evidence that could link the perpetrators to the crime (like fingerprints, clothes etc).
an account of what the police officer did (e.g. interviewing neighbours, photographing the crime scene etc)
