Governmental control of births
Most countries have a policy stand on controlling live births. This is a complex socio-economic-political issue because it involves religious, cultural, economic, and political oppositions, attitudes, values, and beliefs. At one time, China regulated live births to one child per couple. This had both negative and positive consequences, including limitation of the number of workers per family, infanticide of female babies resulting from preferences for male children over female children, and a host of others. Examine this topic and hold a discussion as to whether you believe that the government should have the power to regulate birth rates and what policies are appropriate to accomplish the goal or objective.
