After reading Nabieus and Toms chapters, respectively, compare and contrast to what extent history, culture and indigenous knowledge systems interacted with market-driven housing policies in Sierra Leone and land reforms policies in Zimbabwe to determine the extent these policies successfully achieved or failed to achieve their specific social protection and resource redistribution goals in society

After watching the films Hunting for the Right Wife Material (2020) directed by Patience Oghre Imobhio and The Unfaithful Girl (2019) a Gambian film directed by Hassan A Conteh, use specific examples from the two films to discuss how materialism and social exploitation threatens genuine social relations in postcolonial African societies
