The goal of the portfolio is to demonstrate your ability to analyze a given conflict situation and devise a win-win approach to conflict resolution that accounts for the needs of individual stakeholders, identifies the incompatible goals, examines the power imbalances as well as issues of diversity, and how they can influence the conflict in order to produce a proposed solution for how to successfully resolve the conflict. For the purposes of this portfolio project, you can select a conflict of your choice. You may choose a real-world conflict, such as a community conflict, state or local government conflict, or even an international conflict. Please do not select a personal conflict example. This assignment is asking for you to take an objective approach to your analysis. Thus, I think or I feel statements are not appropriate. Examples of possible conflicts might include conflicts regarding laws or policies or conflicts concerning behaviors (such as wearing a mask or not wearing a mask). You can also choose to select from a fictional conflict, such as a conflict depicted in a TV show, novel, or movie. Remember to focus on one specific conflict throughout your analysis.

Describe the conflict climate:
Discussed whether the conflict climate was harmful or nurturing. Provided examples to support the analysis
Identified how power influenced the climate and provided examples

Describe the stakeholders:
Discussed key players in the conflict by describing their roles
Explained what cultural contexts or issues of diversity were impacting the conflict and how these did influence perceptions

Recommendations:

Described specific strategies (a min. of 3) stakeholders could take to resolve the conflict using a win-win approach. Consider such topics as:
face-saving,
the S-TLC System,
the 6-Step Confrontation Process,
the value of forgiveness
Stress and Anger management techniques
Negotiation & Mediation strategies
