PROCEDURE:

Before viewing the film, gather historical information about the topic. For example, if you choose Mountains of Moons about Exploration in Africa, it is not just about the exploits of the explorers like Sir Richard Burton about whom the film was made, but also the source of their funding. Go to the Library, there is a travelers account by Burton. Try to find out as much as you can about Burton’s exploits and the funding of his trips by the Royal Geographic Society. BIBLIOGRAPHY MUST INCLUDE THREE HISTORICAL SOURCES. Take notes so that you have a clear picture of the events in your mind.
What is the Historical Context of the film? Assess the historical foundation. Gather historical information about the topic. Begin with your textbook by reading only the pages dealing with the topic. Choose books in the library by historians on the topic–may include biographies, autobiographies.
