Introduction: Provide a opening paragraph(s) introducing the reader to your research topic and project. This should be written in paragraph form, double spaced in APA format. Topic: Does PBIS improve chronic absenteeism over a 6 week period? Your goal in the introduction is to engage the reader with your topic/study and to provide the necessary background information to understand the context of the study. Information on the size and type of school where the research was conducted should be included as well.
In your introduction, you also need to discuss how:
The candidate and volunteer principal collaborated to accomplish the goal(s).
Monitoring of programs and activities occurred to ensure personalized learning opportunities.
Appropriate content-based learning materials and strategies were used.
Trust, equity, fairness, and respect were promoted among the candidate, volunteer principal, and building faculty.
4. Action Research Question: Provide a narrative that clearly articulates your action research question, the participants involved, and how you will conduct the research. Put your action research question in bold font.
5. Literature Review This part of your project is completed as an assignment for Module 4: Week 4 and must be at least four pages long, double spaced in APA format with in-text citations and at least five references. Based on your instructors comments on this assignment, you will make revisions/corrections and copy/paste your literature review into your final project. The reference page(s) should be located at the end of the project.
6. Strategic Goal(s) Explain the SMART goal used to address the issue central to the action research question. Goals are to meet the criteria of being SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Research-based, and Time-sensitive. Connect your goal to what you learned from the literature review.
7. Strategy Implementation & Monitoring of Instruction: For the first part of this section, explain in detail your implementation plan. The plan must reflect interventions derived directly from the literature review of evidence-centered research. Then, provide a narrative on how you monitored the principals plan progress and how you provided feedback and assistance to the principal.
Explain your observation cycle that included a pre-observation conference, a minimum of three observations of 30 minutes each, and a post conference after each observation. Include a summary of the notes you took from each observation and conference with the outcomes/action points from those meetings.
8. Evidence/Data from Conducted Research: Explain the results of your action research project including evidence and/or data that explains how your research question was answered.
9. Professional Development Plan: Provide your completed Professional Development Plan using the template provided. The plan must provide evidence that the Professional Development Plan was collaboratively developed with the volunteer principal and that it focuses on the continued improvement of building effectiveness for teaching and learning. It also must include evidence that at least three national standards for professional development are reflected in the growth plan. 10. Conclusion Provide a summary to your project and what you learned by doing it. Include ideas about future research projects that would connect to the research you have completed.
