Explain why your chosen theorist would agree or disagree with Wirth’s assessment.

For this assignment, please submit a short paper of about 1,500 words (approximately 5 double-spaced pages) addressing the following prompt:

Louis Wirth, in his 1938 article, “Urbanism as a Way of Life,” offered a theoretical explanation for why such social problems as “crime, corruption, and disorder” could be expected to be “more prevalent in the urban than in the rural community” (p. 23).

Choose one of the other theorists we have read (Ferdinand Tnnies; W. E. B. DuBois; Ernest Burgess; Roderick McKenzie; or the team of St. Clair Drake and his co-author Horace Cayton, whom you may treat as one “theorist” for the purposes of this assignment). Explain why your chosen theorist would agree or disagree with Wirth’s assessment. What assumptions lead them to similar or different conclusions?
