You must include at least one citation from an outside source about the criminal you chose (the citation must be from an academic source). You will then choose two theories to help explain the criminal and crime you chose.
Your paper should have an introduction in which you briefly describe the crime/criminal and the two theories you are going to use in general terms, and why theyre significant. This is where you can then lay out what will be discussed in the paper for your reader.
Next, you will then provide the background on your criminal/crime; this information should be related to the theories you chose. You will then describe the two theories and apply them to the specifics of your criminal/crime event. Explain why you believe one theory is more effective than the other in explaining the crime. According to the textbook, what are the critiques of each theory, and do you find these to be true when applying the theories to your crime?
Finally, you should have a conclusion that restates the crucial points of your theories in relation to the crime, and some concluding thoughts on which theory you find more effective in explaining the crime.
