Watch the following 3 videos: The Big Reset – Worldviews, The Big Reset – Cities, and Hedonistic Sustainability. Then come up with your own Worldchanging Idea and describe it here on the Worldchanging Ideas Discussion Forum. You can think up a new idea of your own, or you can take inspiration from others’ ideas, such as those found on Alex Steffen’s website.
You must explain what environmental problem your idea would address, and exactly how your idea would address that problem if it were adopted. You should include a minimum of 2 citations and references (in APA format) to support your reasoning. You will be graded on your reasoning and the quality of your references (3 marks).
I invite you to be creative and to use your imagination, but please do not rely on outside interventions from space aliens, or development of technologies that would defy our current understanding of physics.
Next look at other worldchanging ideas listed on this forum and rate 2 of your classmates’ posts on a scale of 0 to 10 (0 being an extremely bad idea and 10 being an excellent idea). Base your rating on A) ease of implementation (will it be easy or difficult to implement) and B) effectiveness to “change the game”. You need to explain your rationale for the rating you give. You will be graded on your critical analysis of these 2 world-changing ideas. (1 mark).
You will not be able to see or reply to your classmates’ posts until you have posted a thread of your own.
Be sure to use the rubric as a personal checklist to maximize your marks.
