Pizza Assignment
Before you reflect on other cultures its important to understand your own. Everyone has differences regarding their traditions, family values, religions, etc. and each of these aspects makes up our culture. It is important for everyone to be respectful of all cultures. You will design your own cultural pizza. Do this by incorporating an aspect of yourself into various slices of your pizza. You may use magazine pictures, clip art, or draw your own pictures. Use words to describe each slice. Some optional categories are as follows: Family, Values, Religions, Traditions, Holidays celebrated, Cultural dress/ceremonies, Friends, Hobbies, Personal characteristics, etc. Cut out 8 different slices of pizza and label each as a different category. Some slices may be bigger than others, but you need 8 slices. If you think of an alternate way to present this information using a visual, that is acceptable. You may just use 10 pages and insert photos or clip art with labels to explain your choices. Many images are available if you go to Google, and so a search, and then click on “Images”. These need to be cited APA. Its probably easiest to draw these to avoid citations.
In addition to labeling each section, please write about each section by describing why that area of your life is important, or using meaningful phrases that illustrate and share information about that slice. There are other ways to do this assignment as well. You may use the Pizza Slice Template or Another sample way to do Pizza Assignment as a guide.
Use the Pizza Rubric to complete this assignment. Make sure to include the additional activities required by this assignment. You may use your own resources to select these activities. This assignment is worth 20 points and meets the following course outcome: Explain the concepts of belonging and family connectedness. When complete, submit this in the Pizza Assignment dropbox.
