First, using concrete examples, describe the extent to which people experience life chances (e.g., career advancement) differently depending on the social categories (e.g., lower class, minority) that they belong to. Your discussion must focus on the “intersection” of one economic category and one racial/ethnic category (e.g., working class + Hispanic) in comparison with other comparable social categories. Second, explain why the economic and racial inequalities above must be considered as a social problem by discussing the objective harm that the inequalities involve.
