FAMILY DYNAMICS

GENETICS, PHYSICAL/MENTAL HEALTH
-In addition, how might genetics, physical or mental health factors be affecting the condition you chose.
Please write a post of about 500-1000 words and share it on the discussion board. Ensure to include references.
Comment on one other students assignment and reflect on the relevance of that condition.
Brief example: a 4 year old girl is experiencing secondary diurnal enuresis at least once a week. Because of the developmental stage of the girl we may first consider regular reminders to use the toilet as some children postpone urination because they are too busy playing to notice or they are choosing to ignore the fact that they have a full bladder (Goodman & Scott, 2012). Because stressful life events are associated with twice the risk of enuresis (Goodman & Scott, 2012) we will also want to find out if there has been recent family break up, move, new sibling, sexual abuse, or conflict within the home. Another common factor associated with enuresis is urinary tract infections particularly in girls (Goodman & Scott, 2012). This should also be explored.
