Explain how you found the calculator and why you chose to use this particular calculator for your project and what else you found while searching for the calculator.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE BEGINNING THIS ASSIGNMENT

In this lesson you will conduct research, develop conclusions, and write a report of your findings.

If you work from any outside sources, you will be responsible for citing all sources of your information. If you do not cite your sources, you will not get full credit for the project.

Procedure:

Conduct an Internet searches on “carrying capacity” and “ecological footprint.”
Find two different ecological footprint calculators you like and go through the calculations.

For this project, you are required to find two online ecological footprint calculators to calculate how big your personal ecological footprint is and to write a paper about it. In the paper, you are required to include but are not limited to the following information:

Provide information on which calculator you used including the web site address of the calculator.

Explain how you found the calculator and why you chose to use this particular calculator for your project and what else you found while searching for the calculator.

Describe the set up of the calculator including the number of parts, sections, and or the number of questions that are included in the calculator.

State the results of your footprint calculations and elaborate on what you think it means in terms of its effects on the Earths carrying capacity. Compare and contrast the results from the calculators you used, and discuss why you think the results were different (if the results were the same, discuss why you think they were so similar). Discuss which calculator you feel is more accurate and why.

State what you think can and should be done to reduce your footprint size or what we, the human population as a whole, can do to improve or increase the Earths carrying capacity.
