Endocrine Disorder Summary Presentation

Overview-

The human endocrine system includes eight major glands throughout the body, which are responsible for the production and regulation of hormones. When these hormones are too high, too low, or the body does not respond to them as it should, an endocrine disorder or disease may be the culprit (e.g. Thyroid disease, etc.). In cases where the process used by the body to make energy from food (i.e., metabolism), is disrupted by abnormal chemical reactions- diabetes is often the result. Diabetes is the most common endocrine disease in the United States.
