Assignment:

Discuss the law **Equal Pay Act of 1963**, is the one you will do for this assignment. The project should be researched utilizing at least 5** outside resources other than our textbook and completed independently with the fact sheet a one page, front and back, document, and works cited on a separate page. The Fact Sheet will be graded on content accuracy and thoroughness as well as spelling and grammar.

The fact sheet should cover the following content:

Overview of the law: what is the purpose of the law? What are the provisions of the law? Who must comply with this law? Briefly give the salient points of the law in your own words.
History of the law: Why did this law get written? What was happening in society, the business world, or in an industry that created the need for the law? How is this law applied in the workplace: What should employers do to comply with the law? What rights do employees have under the law? Give examples of when this law might be used. How do employees exercise their rights under this law- what is the process? Who is the regulating agency for this law? What is the website for the regulating agency? What types of forms, reports, or compliance requirements does the law impose: List forms, posters, and/or reports. State if there are no forms or reports associated with this law.

Pending legislation or case law: Review any pending legislation or significant court cases in progress or ones that impacted the creation or interpretation of this law such as landmark cases for this law. Report on potential updates or changes to the law or interpretation to the law, what stages are the proposals in, when might they be passed, or court decisions rendered?

The format should include all the information from the numbered sections as listed above in content. Utilize bullet points to answer each question in each section. This should be a one-page document front and back, generally single-spaced in sections, bulleted points in each section., This is not an essay assignment. Works cited should be a separate page.
