Does the decision of the majority of the Supreme Court of Canada in R. v. Jarvis accord with the ideal of the rule of law (also known as principle of legality)? Given what you know about the structure of the Canadian criminal process and the values upon which the Canadian criminal justice system is based, do you think that the Supreme Court should have rendered a different decision?
